The program is committed to train surgeons in academic careers in surgical critical care and trauma. We have a robust ICU experience that is well balanced with trauma, transplant, surgical oncology, and other ICU patients. We include experiences with acute care surgery, echocardiography, continuous renal replacement therapy team, ECMO, the Burn Center, and neurocritical care. Fellows learn critical care patient management, research and administration. All previous fellows have accepted academic positions. Due to increasing interest, we have begun offering a second year of acute care surgery to select candidates.
