Support the Next Generation of Trauma Leaders!
Traumatic injury is a major public health challenge in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is the leading cause of death for people less than 45 years of age, and results in more than 200,000 deaths per year. According to the National Academies of Medicine, at least 30,000 of these trauma-related deaths are preventable. Yet despite the significant impact of this public health challenge, trauma is one of the most poorly funded areas of research relative to disease burden.
At EAST, we are working to change that narrative. In furtherance of our exempt purpose, we have established a Development Fund and are investing in awards, scholarships, and programs that fund trauma leaders who are committed to preventing injury and advancing trauma research.
