Trauma and Critical Care Surgeon in Minneapolis, MN (Full-Time) (231904)

The Department of Surgery at Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a trauma and critical care surgeon to join our well-established practice. The trauma service admits more than 3700 patients annually.

Opportunity Highlights
-Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care, teaching of residents and medical students, and participation in education and research conferences and ongoing performance improvement projects.
-Primary surgical responsibilities include trauma and acute care surgery along with opportunities for elective general surgical practice.
-Interest in clinical and/or translational research with record of published work and funding is favored, and qualified candidates may be eligible for protected research time.
-Hennepin Healthcare includes the safety net hospital for the Minneapolis area and a major teaching affiliate of the University of Minnesota. Candidate may be eligible for an academic track faculty position at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Qualifications
-Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota or be eligible for licensure
-Board certified/eligible in Surgical Critical Care
-Current certification in Surgery by the American Board of Surgery or in Surgery (general) by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery or equivalent certification by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Must be certified within four years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship, or training program, as indicated in the Medical Staff Board Certification policy; maintain certification thereafter. Applicant must be active in all required MOC (maintenance of certification) programs.
-Current DEA certificate or eligible for certificate
-Current Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor certification or must complete within 24 months of hire
