Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Level II Trauma Center
Southcoast Health Trauma Center is a high-volume ACS Level II Trauma / Acute Care Surgery program and is the only regional trauma center on the southeastern coast of Massachusetts, an area of need defined by American College of Surgeons trauma system evaluation committee.
We are seeking a fellowship trained Acute Care Surgeon with board certification in General Surgery and added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery
Program Highlights
• Join existing group of 6 attending Trauma / ACS providers (TACS), 5 fellowship trained Trauma / ACS surgeons, 1 EM SCC trained provider.
• 10 specialized advanced practice providers dedicated to the TACS service.
• ACS Verified Level II Trauma Program
• 24/7 support from advanced practice providers
• Emergency Department sees over 90,000 patients annually. TACS service evaluates 2000 trauma patients with over 1300 admissions. The service provides 100% of surgical coverage for the hospital and emergency department and performed nearly 1000 surgical procedures over the past year.
• There is an excellent mix of surgical volume including complex open surgery, colorectal surgery, foregut, chest wall reconstruction, hernia, and opportunities for robotic surgery if desired.
• The department engages in regular scholarly activity through weekly and monthly conferences intended to stimulate knowledge, professional development.

Requirements
• New graduates with board eligibility in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care are encouraged to apply.
• ABS certificate in Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care
• ATLS certification
