Summa Health is seeking a board certified/board eligible Trauma/Surgical Critical Care/Acute Care Surgeon to join our team. The selected candidate will become a member of Summa Health Medical Group, a multi-specialty group practice of 400+ physicians employed by the Summa Health System. Summa Health- Akron Campus is an ACS verified, State of Ohio designated, Level I Trauma Center with:
• Over 2000 annual adult trauma admissions
• A renovated 85,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Emergency Department providing care to more than 75,000 patients each year
• A 78-bed ICU critical care center
• Summa Health now offers a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility for our patients and staff. At 343,000 square feet and seven stories high, the new patient tower is the new front door to Summa Health- Akron Campus
• An on-site rehabilitation care at Summa Rehab Hospital
• A commitment to quality improvement at the Region, State, and National levels (ACS TQIP® member since 2009)
The selected candidate will be based at Summa’s main hospital campus in Akron. In addition, trauma surgeons have access to perform procedures at Summa’s Surgery Center in Medina. With 3 operating rooms and the latest in equipment and instrumentation, it allows surgeons and anesthesiologists to provide the best possible care in one convenient, easy-to-access location.

Candidate Requirements
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery as well as Surgical Critical Care
• Acute Care Surgery fellowship, preferred
• Commitment to quality care in a patient-centered, team-based environment
• Active involvement in medical student and resident education
• Energetic pursuit of continued quality and performance improvement
