Acute Care Surgeons Needed in Metro Atlanta

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking BC/BE Trauma Acute Care Surgeons to join our busy, collegial trauma teams at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, GA and Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center in Roswell, GA.

Kennestone is a level 1 trauma center located in Marietta, just Northwest of Atlanta and has the busiest Emergency department in the state.

North Fulton is a level 2 trauma center located in Roswell, just North of Atlanta.

Other pertinent details varying between each clinical site:

- GME surgery residency program and teaching opportunities.
- Approximately 10-15% penetrative trauma
- Seasoned trauma program with large group comprised of physicians, APPs, responsible for covering trauma, surgical critical care for trauma patients and acute care surgery.

- ICU week in rotation shared equally between partners.
- Backup call schedule shared equally between partners.
- Great work-life balance and opportunities for growth and teaching.

Ideal candidates are as follows:

- Hold current board certification or board eligibility in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery and be credentialed to provide general surgery and surgical critical care services

- State of GA licensure or willingness to apply and obtain

- Hold current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) certification, instructor status preferred

- Have experience and comfort with providing trauma surgical and surgical critical care coverage
