Trauma Surgeon Needed in Thriving Southeast Metro! Ranked #1 City to Live in America!
Huntsville Hospital is an 881 bed, State designated Level 1 Level Trauma Center which sees 2500+ trauma patients annually. We are the only level 1 trauma center in Northern Alabama and act as the referral center for surrounding community hospitals to provide definitive care to our region's trauma patients. We have 24/7 dedicated Trauma APP coverage and our call schedule allows for a great work-life balance. The APP's help carry out all daily functions on the trauma service. Our Emergency Department occupies more than 63,000 square feet and has treatment space for approximately 100 patients. The emergency department currently has six state-of-the-art trauma suites with the capacity of treating three patients in each suite in the event of a mass disaster. All treatment rooms are “universal”. Patient tracking systems and advanced cardiac monitoring systems are standard in every room. It is also the first ED in Alabama to offer Stat Scan technology for the most rapid diagnosis possible. We see about 80/20 blunt/penetrating trauma cases. The call schedule will be 1:5 with primary and secondary trauma coverage daily. Our surgeons consistently operate around the 90th percentile of RVUs for trauma/critical care work. The trauma practice is composed of elective and emergent general surgery, critical care and trauma. Our trauma office is located on campus for seeing patients on an outpatient basis and is supported by a full-time APP Monday-Friday.
Benefits that we offer include competitive compensation package, health//dental/life insurance, insurance, vacation, CME, 401k, and a sign on bonus.
