Trauma Surgeon (Health Sciences Clinical Professor - All Ranks) - Irvine Campus

The Division of Trauma, Burns, Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is recruiting for an acute care surgeon and surgical intensivist, hired at the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at the Assistant, Associate or Professor Level, dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications.This position would be primarily located at the brand-new Irvine campus hospital, a 144 bed hospital opening in December 2025, which will feature a surgical intensive care unit as well as a busy emergency general surgery service. The ideal candidate would develop a robust elective general surgery practice in Irvine. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit would include patients from the emergency general surgery service and other surgical specialties. While the Irvine hospital is not a trauma center, there may be opportunities for additional trauma call at our Orange Campus, which is the only ACS-verified Adult Level 1 Trauma Center in Orange County as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with 6,100 trauma activations annually for a county of 3.2 million people and the only ABA verified Burn Center in Orange County.
