Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Assistant/Associate Professor
The George Washington Medical Faculty Associates’ Department of Surgery (MFA) seeks a full-time faculty member for the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Section. The MFA is an independent not-for-profit clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University. This is a non-tenure track appointment that will be made at a rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) and total compensation commensurate with experience ranging from $330,000 - $400,000. Our practice is centered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are seeking to recruit a trauma/acute care surgeon with responsibilities to provide trauma, emergency general surgery, and ICU coverage primarily at the George Washington University Level 1 Trauma Center, but the position will also involve providing coverage at our new hospital, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center. Other responsibilities include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students and contributing to an active research program.
Basic qualifications: Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care at the time of appointment. They must have demonstrated excellence in teaching as evidenced by teaching evaluations, in research as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress, and excellence in clinical care as evidenced by experience, fellowships, and references.
Applicants must also be eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia.
