Being selected for the John M. Templeton, Jr., MD Military Call to Service Scholarship was a humbling honor. Having the opportunity to participate in the opening ceremony put into perspective the service and sacrifice of the military surgical community that has always been a part of EAST.

The scholarship enabled my first trip to attend the conference, which opened many doors for mentorship and career-growth opportunities that continue long after the conference has ended. I very much appreciate being welcomed into this community, and thank EAST for continuing to offer the scholarship to our military members.
