The EAST INVEST-C Research Hackathon was truly a unique experience for me to engage with and learn from leading topic experts and distinguished researchers from within the trauma community. I received necessary, timely, iterative and intensive feedback in a very positive environment which allowed me to refine both my science and programmatic efforts towards grant funding. Using this feedback, I was able to pivot towards applying to a more suitable funding mechanism and this work is in further development.
Additionally, I was able to use the valuable lessons learnt to successfully secure my first extramural foundation-level funding.
This experience was truly transformative in its content and engagement with leaders in the field for which I am extremely grateful to EAST and its senior members.
